With almost half a million spectators last year, the Tour Down Under
has truly earned its place among the world’s top cycling events. A
host of international cycling stars will battle it out on
Adelaide’s streets and regional South Australian roads during the
thrilling six-day race. And it’s not just the professionals who
get to feel the rush: this year there are chances for cyclists of
all ages and fitness levels to take part in the race during the
new Breakaway Series. So get set for an incredible week of heroic
cycling feats and trackside partying as South Australia comes
alive.

STAR PARTY DOWNUNDER
18-21 January 2007
Discover the beauty of the southern hemisphere’s spectacular night
skies at Star Party DownUnder 2007. The event will be held at
Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, hundreds of kilometres away from
any city smog or lights which might spoil your view from one of
the property’s three nationally acclaimed astronomical
observatories. As well as plenty of time for stargazing, the Star
Party will include talks by expert guest speakers, sunset
cocktails, a banquet in the bush and a geology tour. Situated in

This colourful annual event attracts a cult following, but is also
perfect for a summer family outing. See Port Lincoln at its
finest, showcasing the regions best (sea)food, wine, art, music,
people and surroundings. Tunarama transforms the picturesque
port’s foreshore lawns into a bustling alley of stalls, sideshows
and rides, with events, activities and competitions sure to
delight fish-lovers of all ages. And then there’s the famous John
West Tuna Toss competition…

CLIPSAL 500 ADELAIDE
1-4 March 2007
Full-blooded V8 action hits the city streets, as Adelaide combines
Australia’s largest motor sport festival with four nights of
concerts, spectacular air displays and non-stop on-track action.
This is the race Murray Walker called the greatest touring car
event in the world, and we’re not about to argue with the expert.

ADELAIDE FRINGE 2007

Open your mind and take in some culture, while enjoying the party
atmosphere the Adelaide Fringe creates right across the city. Held
every two years, the Adelaide Fringe is the second largest fringe
festival in the world (after the Edinburgh Fringe). It’s super hip
and very funky. Anything goes with performances by independent
artists from all over the world: theatre, comedy, dance, visual
arts, film, video, music and multi-media shows are all a part of
the Fringe party.
