INTERNATIONAL RUGBY SEVENS ADELAIDE
7-8 April
Catch the frenetic action of international rugby in Adelaide - one of the fastest and most electrifying sporting carnivals on the planet. Watch as the world’s fastest players from 16 countries play 44 games in just two days. The event creates a festival atmosphere, offering fun and excitement for the whole family. For the revellers, this is a party not to be missed. Adelaide is one of eight cities around the world to host the international 16-team tournament for the next five years. Make sure you're there!

OAKBANK EASTER RACING CARNIVAL
7 and 9 April
There’s a simple reason why this country racing carnival is the biggest of its type in the world: it’s so much fun. Every year on Easter Monday, thousands of locals and visitors pack their cars with picnics and make the pilgrimage to Oakbank, in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Get there early and enjoy a champagne breakfast, then spend the day watching the races, indulging your childish side at the sideshows and on the rides, wining, dining and generally enjoying yourself with your friends.

COONAWARRA AFTER DARK
13-14 April
Experience all the thrills, excitement and the lights of vintage as Coonawarra wineries open their doors to visitors at the peak of the grape harvest. Take a tour of a working winery, meet and chat with the winemakers, watch the grape harvesters in action, enjoy the wonderful local produce and sample some of the region’s finest wines.

TASTES OF THE OUTBACK
20-29 April
Wine and dine your way through the Flinders Ranges and Outback, indulging in fine regional food and wine accompanied by world-class entertainment. Performers will include Lee Kernaghan, Del Canto Singer's and Nick Parnell, while experiences on offer will include a beer tasting evening, a night of movies under the stars and regional cooking classes. The Outback has never tasted so good.

ADELAIDE CABARET FESTIVAL
8-23 June
What good is sitting alone in your room? It’s certainly not an option when some of the world’s best lounge, jazz and contemporary singers are in town to entertain you. So put on your glad rags, old chum, and join the cool cats heading down to the Adelaide Festival Centre for two weeks of cocktails and cabaret. Be entertained with heart-wrenchingly beautiful melodies, comedy numbers that will have you in fits of laughter, and even the odd diversion into country and world music. Come, hear the music play!

ADELAIDE FESTIVAL OF IDEAS
5-8 July
Held in July of every second year, the Adelaide Festival of Ideas is an intellectual celebration. In 2007, the theme is 'Which Way to the Future?' Some of the world's most eminent and provocative speakers present lectures, public conversations and panel discussions exploring new ideas and themes in greater depth than mainstream media is capable of doing. The Adelaide Festival of Ideas encourages a global democracy of ideas and is a call to action for society.
