TOUR DOWN UNDER
20-27 January 2008
The Tour Down Under attracts the world's cycling elite to South Australia annually to battle for glory in Australia's premier international cycling race – and in 2008 it will become the only ProTour event held outside Europe. This action-packed race features starts and finishes in key locations throughout Adelaide and scenic South Australian regions. For the first time in 2008, cycling fans will have more chances to cheer on the world's best cyclists as the event is expanded to include two weekends of elite cycling action. Participants in the Mutual Community Challenge Tour on Friday 25 January 2008 can pedal the same 134-kilometre route between Mannum and Strathalbyn as the world's elite cyclists in Stage 4 of the Tour Down Under. And a shorter ride option of 73.5km from Woodside to Strathalbyn is also available for those seeking a more leisurely ride.

CLIPSAL 500 ADELAIDE
21-24 February 2008
Full-blooded V8 action hits the city streets, as Adelaide combines Australia’s largest motor sport festival with four nights of concerts, spectacular air displays and non-stop on-track action. This is the race Murray Walker called the greatest touring car event in the world, and we’re not about to argue with the expert. Feel the rush as the cars roar by during the day, then party into the night with huge outdoor concerts.

ADELAIDE FRINGE
22 February – 16 March
Open your mind and take in some culture, while enjoying the party atmosphere the Adelaide Fringe creates right across the city. Held every two years, the Adelaide Fringe is the second largest fringe festival in the world (after the Edinburgh Fringe). It’s super hip and very funky. Anything goes with performances by independent artists from all over the world: theatre, comedy, dance, visual arts, film, video, music and multi-media shows are all a part of the Fringe party.
