ALDERSEY FARM
Enjoy a meal at the new Aldersey Farm and Restaurant, located in a quaint renovated farmhouse in the heart of the McLaren Vale. Specialities include Yolla (mutton bird) and French Pissaladiere (or pissaladiera in Provencal) is the specialty – an ancient style of pizza or tart, originating from Southern France. The dough is usually thicker than that of the classic Italian pizza, and the topping consists of sautéed (almost pureed) onions and anchovies. No cheese is used, again unlike the Neapolitan pizza, however in the nearby Italian town of San Remo, mozzarella is added. You’ll also be able to enjoy tastings of Shingleback Wines, who have recently moved to this new location.
